The Institut Farel is a faculty of theology offering a program of study in the French language leading to a Bachelor's Degree in Theology. Based on the historic reformed confessions, Institut Farel was established to provide "spiritual, personal, and professional training to pastors of French-speaking churches", primarily in Quebéc.

Institut Farel is also a school for the laity. Addressing itself in the French language to all who seek to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures and who want to obtain and strengthen a Christian and reformed world and life view, it offers courses to regular and part-time students or auditors in the context of a program leading to a Certificate of Christian Studies.

Institut Farel does not belong to any denomination. It was founded in 1978 by the Reformed Evangelical Alliance, an association who recognized the need for a cooperative reformed work in Quebéc.
